I want to let everyone know some of what has been happening since our Annual Meeting last year.
On January 1, 2017 Citizen’s for Clean Water relaunched its web site with a new look and more information. You can view the web site at cfcwtl.org. Please go to it and look it over and the Board would love to hear your feedback.
We are still monitoring the landfill and just finished the second testing of the year with the results indicating no top water contamination leaving the landfill property. We are now testing three times a year next to the landfill and on Pigeon Creek because the ADEQ inspections show there is leachate leaking but contained on the landfill property. ADEQ put the work, needed to properly fix the landfill, out for bids but rejected the bids and then put it out for bids again in Dec 2016. The bids closed in January and approval of the project was given and started in May 2017.
CFCW has also applied for a grant to help us with testing costs. Come and join us and get the latest on all that we are doing.
Note from Membership Chairman
Greetings to all of my fellow CFCW members,
When you receive your “notice” of the meeting you know there will be a message from the Membership Chairman in it. Here it is! We are still busy keeping an eye on our Twin Lakes Environment and our Water Resources. CFCW’s efforts include public education, working with public officials, and providing information to the public and industry. In addition, CFCW has an ongoing program consisting of professional water testing of our lakes, rivers, streams, wells and municipal drinking water and we need your support. Now, with that said, our annual membership dues are due 1 September, 2017, and will be good until 31 August, 2018. Annual dues are still only $15.00 per person or $25.00 per household.
Send your membership check and return it in the enclosed envelope and we will look forward to seeing you there. There will be door prizes.
